Huai’an, China, October 31 — The 2026 Huai’an Golden Autumn Economic and Trade Symposium opened on October 31. The symposium drew a large turnout of business leaders. Representatives of several companies addressed the event as guest speakers, and executives from a range of firms attended.

Autumn is both a season of harvest and a season of sowing. In recent years, Huai’an has achieved results in three areas: the city’s industrial development has made historic breakthroughs — the number of industrial enterprises above designated size, national high-tech enterprises and companies with output value of 10 billion yuan or more has doubled, as have total industrial output value and industrial power consumption; the business environment has continued to improve, with a service system covering every stage of a company’s development and steadily rising satisfaction among businesses; and the development momentum remains strong, with GDP and per capita disposable income of all residents growing at rates among the fastest in Jiangsu over the past five years — a sign that the city is innovating, rising and improving on every front.

Gu Kun, Secretary of the CPC Huai’an Municipal Committee, delivers a speech.
Looking ahead, Huai’an will plant three seeds. The first is resolve: to see one blueprint through, however long it takes — working steadily for lasting results rather than quick wins, and making the hometown of the late Premier Zhou Enlai a better place, one that lives up to its symbolic role. The second is sincerity: Huai’an puts projects first and treats its business environment as gold, focusing on new industrialization and building a rainforest-like ecosystem in which businesses can thrive, treating companies as users and designing services around them. The third is promise: stronger counties, better lives and a stronger city — as Huai’an looks to China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030) and works through the hard, decisive years ahead, it aims to take high-quality development to a new level.
The organizers expressed the hope that entrepreneurs will serve as Huai’an’s partners and ambassadors and grow together with the city. Guest representatives highly praised Huai’an for its superior business environment, sound industrial ecosystem, and fertile ground for scientific and technological innovation. Three tech companies based in Huai’an, including Jiangsu Feite’er Communication, presented project roadshows and pitched Huai’an’s industrial opportunities. Agreements were signed for major projects, technology projects and industry funds.(Text and photos by Ye Lie and Guan Weifa)
